Here are the dozen hand-blade scrapers that I use<\/strong>. In upcoming posts, I will discuss usages, techniques, and how to sharpen them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These are all steel in the hardness range of Rc 48 – 52<\/strong>. Most are Lee Valley. Lie-Nielsen and Bahco are similarly very good. Thickness dimensions are inches\/mm.<\/p>\n

Here is the simple storage block<\/strong> (4\u201d wide x 3 1\/2\u201d long x 1 3\/8\u201d high) with angled slots sawn:<\/p>\n

In the photo below<\/strong>, are three concave and convex small scraper combinations, 3\u201d to 3 1\/2\u201d overall diameter. I find these very handy. I do not recall the brand name.<\/p>\n

I store them in the simple thin leather stapled wallet:<\/p>\n

So that’s my crew.<\/strong> I use every one, though some a lot more than others. I have left out differently designed scrapers – some curved scrapers for scraping flat wood, some with curved-off corners, some much thicker scrapers – because I have not used them and do not feel the need, at least currently. I have left the cabinet scraper out of the discussion because I happily have replaced it.<\/p>\n
