The other week in my &quot;handplane basics&quot; class at Highland Woodworking, we played around with 2-foot winding sticks on the edge of 4/4 stock, and checked the effect of a .004&quot; plastic shim placed just at the corner. The students were impressed that the difference is readily apparent. The potential for accuracy in these simple cutting and measuring tools is gratifying to share. Thank you for adding another little arrow to my quiver!]]></description>
