Work is by commission

The design is a collaboration between you and the artist.

You will see how the piece is made and from what it is made as the work progresses.

You will know who made it.

It will be truly unique.

It will last and be valued for generations.

The process

A commission starts with a discussion between the client and me by email, phone, or in person, often with some rough sketches. As you hopefully appreciate my woodworking style, I come to understand what you have in mind for a specific piece. I can email photos of wood options, even specific boards, for your piece.

If there is agreement to proceed further, scaled drawings are made for approval and modifications discussed and noted. This work is billed commensurate with the time involved.

Upon agreement to go ahead, I will start building with receipt of one-third of the purchase price. The second third is due at the halfway mark, and the final third at delivery, along with any shipping costs. Seeing photos of the work in progress will add to your appreciation of the finished piece.
